A Brisk Walk into the New Year

Early this afternoon, we drove to West Marin, parked at the trailhead for the Cross Marin Trail, near Pt. Reyes National Seashore,  and walked for an hour.

It was chilly, so we walked briskly.  Patches of wet pavement in the shade, standing water here and there.  Not many other people around.

Afterward, a drive back through the winter landscape to Berkeley, where I spent an hour moving things from last year's calendar to the current year's and making a long list on a yellow pad of things to do starting tomorrow, when everyone goes back to his/her assigned seat, and real life starts up again.  One of my favorite days of the year.
